Medieval Icelandic History
Although I began this course once before, it is currently on hold, but planned for a renewal at a later date. It will focus on the Icelandic history from the Age of Settlements (c.870-930) all the way through until the Reformation (c.1500). Currently, my intention is to focus on the society an culture of medieval Iceland. For example, I will discuss how disputes were resolved, how governance worked, how literature was produced, what daily life may have looked like, and how Icelanders passed their time. I will also look at their relationship with the world around them, such as how they interacted with Norway and even England and Germany.
